What is Squidoo?

Squidoo is cool place where you can publish your articles - lenses and earn money. It is also a place where you can meet other lensmasters and interchange comments and rate their lenses. The difference from other similar social sites is the way Squidoo incentivate creation of content. There are points, levels and additional features you can learn as an active lens writer.

How to build a lense?

Lens is a squidoo synonym for article. Article is composed out of blocks named modules. The main module is a Text module which includes text and a photo. A text module represents the main content of the lens. Other available modules include Amazon and eBay store, Picture, Link, Youtube and Comment module to name just a few of the most used and favorite ones.

It is very easy to add blocks, rearrange them and delete if needed. The final step in building lenses is publishing lens. This way lens can be seen on the Squidoo page. Later on all content including modules, tags, pictures and links can be modified.

Lenses get a Lens rank over time. If the lens rank is high enough, one gets paid for it. Other way of monetizing lens is to put monetizing modules inside the lens. AdSense banners that are included in lens can also generate income. Money can be split among Squidoo Charity founds and the owner of the lens.
